COSMIC BIRDS in Ashikaga

This room, which was used for spinning in the old days, has been slightly browned by fine dust that has been slowly deposited since stopping its operation. I think the fall movement where fine dust illuminated by the sun light, as if described in One Hundred Years of Solitude of Garcia Marquez , slowly falls on the parchment is suitable for this room. I wanted to draw a scene here that the particles that have accumulated over hundred years suddenly blow up one day and become a breath of new life.

古く紡績に使われたこの部屋はその営みを止めて以来ゆっくりと降り積もった細かな塵によってうっすらと褐色に染まっています。まるでガルシアマルケスの１００年の孤独に謳われた陽の光に照らされた微細な塵が羊皮紙の上にゆっくりと降り積もって行くような落下運動こそこの部屋にふさわしいと思うのです。そしてそのように１００年かけて降り積もった粒子が機を一にして舞い上がり新たな生命の息吹きとなる。そんな情景をここに描いてみたいと思いました。
